A game about Censorship, Corruption and Newspapers

The Westport Independent is a censorship simulator taking place in a post-war country, governed by the recently elected Loyalist Party. As the editor of one of the last independent newspapers in the country, your job is to remove and edit the content of your paper, affecting the people’s opinion of both the rebels and the Loyalist government. With an increase of rebel activity and an ever watching government breathing down your neck, whose truth will you print?

Features
- Change the content and meaning of your articles by censoring them to your liking. While you can’t lie, you don’t have to tell the whole truth either.
- Employees with fleshed out character, who will not only react to your actions, but also discuss them with other colleagues.
- Receive letters and messages from public figures, rebel leaders, employees and other characters affected by your actions.
- Adaptive stories where your actions affect the opinions of the people, which affects what happens in the city, which in turn affects the stories you receive.

Pros and cons of The Westport Independent app for iPhone and iPad

The Westport Independent app good for

The game itself is interesting, but I couldnt help but feel it could have and should have been longer.
Love the game but it doesnt open sometimes - when that happens, delete all background apps and try again.
The best political simulation on iOS is made by the same studio that made goat simulator.
I played the whole thing in 30 minutes it was a thrilling play through lots of corruption and commitment would recommend to friend and I would definitely play again and as I was playing it at the end I saw how much thought and detail was put in I hope there to be more games like this!
This game has a lot of elements that I LOVE in a good game. It has an interesting plot that changes based off how you play and not just a single dialogue option or decision, moral ambiguity because neither the government or the rebels are truly the good or evil side, a cast of characters that feel like real people, several different endings for different characters and areas, the list goes on. I think this game deserves to be called one of the all time App Store classics up with The Walking Dead and Hearthstone.
This game has a really good idea behind it, that youre the censor and you can control what goes in the news or not. However, it is really short and if youre looking to purchase this game for hours of compelling gameplay, then this isnt for you.

Some bad moments

The game was good. The idea was great. The design was nice. The music was magic. Truly a great gaming experience... For the 3 hours it lasted. Way too expensive for how long will it last
Game is currently unplayable on iphone 4 as far as I know. The screen is glitched and I cant press start or go in the settings.
Amazing game and it is very awesome to play. Its not worth the money though. You can finish the game in 45 minutes. Extremely overpriced.
Beat it twice , first time slowly and the second much faster still under 3 hours total. Expensive, for the time. At least its not 11$ like on Steam. Garbage. Worth 3$ tops, lack of design, variety or even major consequential twists.
This game isnt all bad. The retro graphics reminded me of early Macintosh UI. The music is mellow and atmospheric piano. And the concept is decent: you run a newspaper where you must make choices as to how much you censor stories or not, and how much you toe the government line or not. But it is not fully realized; your censorship choices come down, usually, to choosing between two headlines. And how much the marketing a layout options really matter is not fully explained. Then there is the shortness of it - 30 minutes in my case. That is not what I expect for the price. Bottom line: not bad idea, but needs WAY more work. Do not buy this game as it is now.
This is not a bad game, but does not come anywhere near passing the value for money test. It is a very short game with little replay value. Wouldnt recommend this game unless it is on sale for a couple of dollars.
